Onboard Air Using a York
How would you get this to work on a 94? I want to have air ride suspension, along with air horns and outlets would be real handy on the trail. Could this system handle all this?
I have Kilby's Onboard Air on my truck. I use it all of the time. I have air bag overloads on the rear with 2 auto leveling valves, air horns and maintain a 5 gallon air tank. the system has no problem. This year at Bonneville we used it to power a die grinder and air sander while making repairs to a car. With the engine running at 1800 the system was able to supply 80 psi continuously. I also carry an air jack and impact in my truck for road side repairs.
I redid the bracket to fit on the 12v. It's not a bad swap, the pulley fit right on. I used the factory belt and added a bracket on the mount side to copy the alt. bracket threw bolt design. Then just made two new brackets with holes to hook the alt. on. I used a plate on each sides of the alt. cause when I took it off of my 01 the bracket for the alt. had broke off the single plate. I also moved the tension bracket, I don't remember whether it hit something or just wasn't right for my setup. You might have to move the rad. overflow tank to, I did on mine. It is real close to the hood but mine has not hit in 3000 mi. The york system is a real good setup and will make more pressure than most need. As Tom said it will pull a impact at fast idle real good.
