Old school running boards
Anybody know of someplace that still makes the old school full length aluminum diamond plate running boards? Not the nerf bar type or individual step, but the full length step-style? I've been looking all over and the closest I've found looked like were meant for a crew cab toyota...some half plastic half extruded aluminum sleek
looking deal whose daddy must have slept with a nerf bar.
Thanks!
Ed

I had the same thing when I got my truck back in 05. Couldn't give them away, ended up going to the scrap yard.

They are called Dee-Zee Brite Tread running boards.
http://www.deezee.com/images_products/RB_bt.jpg . They are still available.

Yeah I'm whenever I get some I'm gonna try to incorporate some homemade sliders tucked up under the boards so you can't see em but if I run out of clearance there's steel there to take the load...
edit: THE 80s ROCKED!!!
With all their advantages, I can't see why everyone is in such a big hurry to trash their running-boards.
I have them on, or waiting to be put on, every truck I have.
They deflect all the rocks that otherwise would knock off paint.
They provide a place to step up to reach the windshield.
They make bed access so much easier.
They provide a neat place to add lights.
And, they are a handy step when getting in.
I have had THREE sets GIVEN to me, over the last few years, that were headed to the dumpster, in like new condition.
I'll take them anyday.
