The manual trucks are different. ECM controls the cruise electronically, no vacuum lines. I've had terrible cruise control surge since the Mach3s and Comp were in together. CaTCHER didn't change much, but it's a little better with the Smarty on lower levels. The only way mine works semi-smooth is to have 10k load behind the truck!

I was thinking of the WD40 straw as well, but I had a vac line resrictor from a FWD turbo Mopar. I might have to put another in there. I hit "resume" a bunch of times to see how bad the cruise would kick in, 23psi on cruise is definatley fun. however it lets up as quick and almost makes the turbo bark.

This catcher is funky. The truck accelerates better at 1/2-3/4 throttle than it does at full throttle. Also, when I'm going at full throttle or whatever and I start to let off the truck starts accelerating hard. I don't care to much for that. Don't matter anyways because the money I had set aside for this is now being diverted into a new front hub and a new power steering box.

Your driving style will change with the Catcher. If you are wanting fast acceleration then you have to roll into the throttle. If you are going for big smoke then just floor it and wait about 5-10 seconds for the boost to come up and hold on! But once you get used to driving you won't want to go back, I know I don't!!

Don't know about the later model 24v's but my 98 is standard and does have vac controls.

I already roll into the throttle instead of hammering it to help save my tranny. It's not a matter of how fast you press the pedal in, it's how far you press it. There is a BIG difference between half throttle and full throttle. Both net 3200rpm shifts (I'm assuming the trans is still shifting cause the RPM's sure don't drop ) but half throttle is noticeably quicker than full throttle.

The old school version of the smarty. It's a reprogrammed ECM for us properly valved folks that takes away all of the defueling that mama Dodge figured we needed. You under valved folks don't have to worry about it.

Haha the cool thing, floor it let up and when the truck starts charging hold it there! That is when I found out my turnbuckled Hy would hit 32 instead of the "normal" 29 I initaitlly got out of it. It gets annoying but fun when you want it to happen.

32psi. I used to hit 48psi with my stock HY35 with a comp and 275's. I've got my KSB-1 gated at 40 and when I turn the comp up I can hit 45psi. I can only imagine what kind of boost I could hit if I cranked it shut.

Hmmmm I guess I could crank the turnbuckle more, but I dont want to need a tranny right now. I like the fact that it is still driveable, along with some upgrades due to the fuel system as well before I cut the HY totally loose.

Upping the boost won't hurt your tranny. Just the turbo.

I'd leave it right where yours is at, anymore than that and it's just heating up the air.............I got mine hitting around 32-34psi and that's about perfect for our short winded turbo's
