Old bully dog, need help

hi guys, I am new to the site. I have only had my new 99 dodge for a week now and love it. I have had a gas 1500 for the last 12 years so I am not new to Dodge mods. But now I have 2.
My question is my new dodge came with a old bully dog programer the seller told me he got from a buddy for free. It's old, looks like it was made as a science fair project from parts from Radio shack.
It is about 5" wide with a very simple lcd display and 3 buttons on it. 2 black and one orange, I don't have a instruction manual for it at all but it seems to work.
I am hopping somebody can tell me the model info on it so I can learn to adjust it. I am not looking to push the motor too hard with the settings in fact I would rather detune for better reliablity and mpg.
I can flip trough the setting but it is hard to tell what I have selected.
I also am not sure what I should be expecting as far a EGT temps, ect and I am worried my fooling around might cause more stress on my rig then I need to by not knowing where I want the setting. Thanks for any info you can pass on to a diesel new guy.

I wouldn't want to see any EGT's higher than 1250 to 1300. Just my .02 !
As for the bully dog....? Got no idea! I'd try their website or tech support. They may want it for a bully dog museum!

hmm... My Pyro on my "old bully dog" reads up to 2000's when just driving to work, not sure where the sensor is (pre or post turbo), I will check on my days off. I can't belive I am over pushing the motor that hard. If I disconect the 12 volt lead from the computer the truck should run stock settings, right? I was thinking that this could at least give me a "seat of the pants" gauge of what the bully dodg box is doing. I seems to run about 800's when I first start it up does that sound normal. thanks guys

If you hit 2000 for any time more than like 1 second. parts would be scattered or melted! I would have to say something is wrong with that guage or sender.

I think, ( I could be wrong ) different manufacturers have different specs. Each guage is designed to work with a specific spec thermocouple. Yes you can check it with a multimeter, but not knowing the spec, you wont know if it is right. Does it jump from any specific position to 2000? I would bet on a failed thermocouple but who really knows!? Again, probably gonna have to get that info direct from BD.
