Ok guys need ya'lls expertise!
man I was at the Texas diesel nationals in Baytown this past weekend and I think I talked to that guy. I do remember he said that don was around the ft. Worth area but they would ship to him then to don then to him then to me there has to be an easier way. He was real busy so I didn't grill him on where don is at for sure, I figured some one on here would know
I want about a 6-7 hundred hp dd and tow my horse trailer around and fifth wheel. Right now im pouring money into it my vp44 died so im trying to find out which one is the best to get and gather some tools so i can change it. what about you.
for those hp # you should stick with the so vp. I want a 600-700 hp truck as well for daily driver haul hay sled pull every now and then and to spank the fast a furious style cars around town
yes you can put the so on a ho truck. The so will support more hp. I will be sending in my comp to get it turned into the drag then stack it with the smarty but I love the power it puts out now. I won't do that tho tell I get injectors and turbo upgrades.
I have no ideas. I know I want to do twins but can only afford one at a time, umm I was maybe thinking ats arrora 3000 and then get the 5000 but I am open to all suggestion in that department
I will do fire rings and polish the head with head studs before I get turbos. I was thinking of south bend double disk the one that is rated for 550 hp but when I was at baytown I talked to haisley machining and they put together custom clutches for your app. They were around the same price so I may go with them.
yeah i was thinking the 3250 dd from southbend. have not heard much about haisley so cant really make an educated choice as far as that goes. are fire rings the same as o-rings. and what does polishing the head do. how much of your own work do you do.
I am pretty sure fire rings and o rings are the same and I try and do as much as I can my self but this is my first diesel and can't afford any screw ups so if I don't feel comfortable with it I have no problem sending it some where. Polishing the inside will make for a smooth non restricked surface. I have not seen the inside of our heads yet but was told that the wall thickness was not that thick between the air jackets so depending on how much material is there I may or may not port it as well. The diesel funny car draggster from wetherford uses a p pumped 24v that has not been portted for the same reason
