Now What Intake?

well i'm getting about sick and tired of my BHAF, i think its gawdy looking and ugly, and my paint chipped off of my heatshield and i went to put a new coat on and it just ran like none other, this is all my opinion and my fault for not properly preparing the metal but oh well.

then, i was looking at shop DTR and doing some researching and it seems as if the scotty ll is no longer. is this true? and is it for good?

if this is the case then i need help deciding on another intake. i used to have a k&n but my turbo just sucked the oil right off of it which really disappointed me and i bought that before i even did any research. so with that being said, i am really weary about getting another oiled filter, i know the scotty ll is/was oiled as well but it seems like a lot of folks had good luck with that one and i really liked how it was set up as well, so, what's the next best in line?

thanks ya'll

i don't know anything about them, that's why i'm asking what i should get.

also, is there another filter out there that has the intake go through the cowl like the scotty did? i really like that feature

I love my AEM bruteforce. The whistle is awsome, you dont have to oil it, it looks good, and it's priced reasonably. They also have the workhorse series with the huge filter element. Good luck!

not to sure about the Scotty, however I thought the AFE was an oiled filter like the K&N, so I would think the turbo would just suck the oil out of it like it does the K&N??.....

Theres a new series of filters from Amsoil , I think they all start with EO , lots of good reviews so far , just need to build a house for it , maybe about $50-70 , it is blue so I made a box from that blue plastic cardboard , all sides but the one away from turbo , whistles good .

The AEM has what they call a dryflow filter. Thats about all I know. I cleaned mine for the first time about a month ago. Super simple....soak it in soapy water, rinse untill clean and let dry. Thats it!

ok, well what about the volant it looks like its identical to the scotty, pulls from two places and all, just this one is in a box and not foam. i'm willing to give another oil filter a try i just need to hear testimonials that people have had with a filter NOT getting oil all over the place. and also, i'm stuck on the scotty design, i saw how it works and i fell in love, i think its great and i like that the volant is covered, great protection from the heat...i think anyway. can you all tell me different or the same.

I personally haven't heard a BHAF, but my AEM with the silencer ring gone is plenty loud. It really turns heads when the RPM's are up.
