I have an 01 cummins and i noticed the other day that my edge comp- box didnt want to change settings. Then today it wont even turn on and now my check engine light is on and its a 6 sp. so i took it around the block and i can put it on the floor and it wont accelerate at all! Does any body have any advice on what i should start with first? I checked all the connections and their all good im wondering if its not my map sensor but i dont know and their not cheap so if there is something dumb im missing please tell me! Any advice is helpfull...thanks

 

Try using the key on/off trick 3 times and see if there are any codes stored in the computer. That will give you a good idea on where to start looking. There should be a big list on what code is what.

 

here is the codes it threw p 0500,1690,1687,0237,0236,and 1693.

Well from the looks of things I would start by cleaning all the connections around the MAP sensor and check your connections around where the Comp Box hooks up. You might want to get some Electronic Contact Cleaner to clean the connections. Sounds almost like something came unhooked and tripped some codes.

did you try completely unhooking the comp box? with the MAP codes I'd suspect the truck is defueling

 

yea... no difference n it is defueling i mean 3000 rpm and 5th gear arent even and option im thinkin im gona have to order a map sensor and rip edge a new EDIT but im seein what you guys got to say cause youve saved me before!

 

ok new update i pulled the edge harness off and it runs fine so im glad i held off looks like i am calling edge!

 

After 300K plus miles, mine tossed a p1960 code and acting strangely.
I couldn't find any pump issues or other problems.
Pulled the Edge EZ out of the loop and it hasn't missed a lick since.
Problem is, I miss the Edge EZ. Without it, pulling a load is not much fun. In fact it's a PITA having to putt everywhere.. !
Only positive I can see is the Dyna won't need rebuilding as often...

 

they told me that i would have to pay them 150$ so they could put a new board in the box...which i think is stupid, but what else are you going to do?
