New Wheels

Well after being told by Mickey Thompson where to stick it about the condition of my wheels, I've decided to do something about it. The polished aluminum look just ain't cutting it anymore. It's faded and has water spots impregnated into them and brake dust and they just look really bad overall. I've wet sanded them and polished them back up once and then sealed them but it didn't work. Anyways, here's what I want to do with them. I want to leave the center cap chrome, and powdercoat the inside of the wheel black, leaving just the last outter ring chrome. What do yall think? I'm attaching a horrible mockup of what I want but at least it'll give yall an idea. Also, the lug nuts themselves will be chrome as well.

I'd personally prefer the all black look since the finish on the rims is junk anyway. Powdercoat would be much better!

The black part will be powdercoated. I'm gonna have the shiny parts polished up once more and then powdercoated clear.

Be careful with the clear powdercoat....sometimes it turns out with a brown tint, and if it cracks or yellows down the road, it'll be tough to get off.

Hey Blue,
I have the same wheels and the same problem! I should have mine powder coated in a week or two. I'm going down to Virginia to pick up some weight lifting equipment that I built for a guy and had coated down there. So when I pick that stuff up I'll do my wheels. I think the look will be awsome!
