New to performance

Im new to the cummins world and was wondering how much power i would get from a 4 inch turbo back, some sort of an intake (preferably a dry filter), and a smarty (i like the 3cyl. high idle feature, open to suggestions on other boxes/tuners) also what other kinds of things would i need to run these things, injectors, tranny upgrades, turbo?

Anything would be helpful as im trying to learn as much as possible before i go pick it up, Thanks

The sky pretty much is the limit. I you are looking to build some serious power most go this route.

Exhaust
Intake
Fueling Box
Tranny
Injectors
Turbo(s)
Fuel System
Studs.....The list goes on and on

Before you do any performance upgrades, the first order of business is ALWAYS install gauges.

Then BOMB's away!

Yep... get some Gauges first! Pyrometer, Fuel Pressure and Boost to start!

Probably around 75hp to the rear wheels. Just about the limit for the stock clutch or auto tranny (clutch can handle a bit more depending on how you drive).

Agree with everyone else though, get the gauges first. After that, you could get the Smarty (the stock intake and exhaust are fine at this level). Then you could do the intake and exhaust if feel the need to. At this level (mild) no other upgrades needed, but you will get the bug, and be hooked after that...have fun!

Oops i guess i should of have given a clue to what I'm using it for, i want a daily driver/occasional work truck (towing a 5000lb trailer), my goal is to have a reliable decent performing truck for the next year or so or until i finish paying it off and be set up to add lots of power, i already have the guages and pillar for it i forgot to mention that.
What can i do to the tranny to help it last for a year or so before i can afford to spend 5k on a decent built one. Ive read lots about people just getting a new TC and a valve body, is that going to hold for a while? I'm going to get a new cooler and a deep pan for it right away but thats all i can really do for now, will it be safe?

I'm trying to keep it at a safe level and still have some fun (already hooked from my cousins truck) for now until i finish school and have real time and money to commit to a truck.
Also i live in alberta, dont know how much that affects the parts i should get, but ive had experience with k&n filters freezing up in the cold and suffocating engines, and dont really want any strange cold weather side affects showing up. Thanks again.
