New guages
New guages
Gonna install a set of Isspro guages, but I got a couple of questions.<br>(1) I got my guages today, going to install this weekend.<br> I'm confused on Pre and post turbo install and temps.<br> The pyro I got has the redline around 1100*<br> I think I should go back and trade it for the 1300*redline<br><br>(2) The guy I bought the guages from told me max<br> temp should be 1300*<br> But that seems high to me (HELP) :'(<br> <br>(3) Where do I hook up the boost tubing under the hood?<br><br>
Re:New guages
The 1100 is post turbo and the 1300 is pre turbo, pre turbo is more acurate reading. You have to drill a hole in the exhaust manifold right before the turbo. The boost tubing hooks into the intake usually to the right, above the diesel filter.
Re:New guages
Actually, 1300 IS high. Although pre-turbo momentary spikes to this level are acceptable, I would stay with the 1100, since the turbo housing metal will begin to change its crystalline structure at about 1250 (that is, when the housing itsself reaches 1250). Notice we are talking sustained temps, and it is recommended that when approaching this temperature level in a sustained load condition you should reduce the load by reducing speed, downshifting, etc.
