Need some upgrades advice
I just had the DTT transmission done and I want to put a little more power to her now that I can. The question is should I replace my Vanaaken V5 with a Smarty and tst or keep the Vanaaken and get aTST with Mach 1.6 injectors and get Smarty later. I have no gauges so TST is the primary upgrade just wondering the differences of vs heat issues with stock turbo. I would like a combo that I could run hard and be defueling in 10seconds if possible. I do have a BD 95/gal aux lift pump as should be in my sig. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks
Gauges are pretty much a mandatory recomendation before you begin modding....especially a fuel psi.
1.gauges - egt, fuel pressure, boost, tranny temp
2. fuel pump upgrade of some kind - FASS, Glacier, Holley, etc
3. exhaust - 4" minimum
4. intake - AFE, BHAF, etc
5. injectors - Mach 1.6, RV275
6. electronics - Smarty, Edge, TST, Adrenaline, Edge juice

Wow, I thought I would get more feedback with similar setups. Is my sig showing the proper info for advice? Please keep the suggestions coming as I spend a lot of time on this forum and value a lot of the knowledge here, Thanks
I have some more internals and bigger injectors and turbo but I have always like the smarty and the TST together. the smarty you can fine tune to the way you want to fuel and add or decrease timing . the TQ on a smarty is great. not knocking edge I would run one but I have always had a tst and still love it.
make sure your fuel pump, can support what you are asking with the electronics your injectors are great nice clean smooth and good egt's
if you have a member or a friend in your state or close or even a smarty dealer by you they should let you test out a smarty before you buy...
may want to start eye balling a turbo for the future a 62/65/12 would be a great compliment to all of that and keep you egt's in check.
