need help... too much fuel

Alright I know that with what i've got on the truck (COMP tapped + smarty) is too much fuel for the stock turbo. (I hit about 38-39 psi) I know the phatshaft 62 would be a good choice but I'm limited on $. I have stock injectors and wonder what should be my next move?? Thanks in advance -A.Wall

Should back off on the programmer. At least until you get a turbo.

YOu might want to check your pyrometer for accuracy. MOst truck with stock turbos pushing 38psi are definitely higher than 1150 degrees, depending on time of year.

IN the dead of winter, 1150 at 38psi is pretty reasonable. But in summer and especially in higher elevations (or both!), that 38psi will often equate to EGTs of 1400 or higher.

my pyro is mounted where edge told me to, a couple inches above the turbo on the exhaust manifold. one of the local diesel shops around here said "my truck has been horribly denied of fuel" since my lift pump has so many miles on it. he also said i should have no problem getting my egts sky high.

i have planned on putting a new fuel pump system in there and if i cant get my egts up then, i will swap out with a fresh probe and see whats going on.

get a water methanol kit they only cost around 500 bucks and that will help your egts plenty just dont use too much meth, head gaskets have been known to blow.
