need help finding HG, injectors, other parts
Hi, I am in need of a head gasket right now and I think I will buy a set of injectors while I have it down that far. I will never build the truck up very much. All I will have is an Adrenaline and mild injectors. Anyway, I have a few questions:
-Where is the best place to get a head gasket
-Which injectors would be good for me. I mostly want to increase mpg
-Where do most of you buy Cummins parts?
-I dont think i need studs or o-rings....am i right?
Oh, truck is an 01 3500 6 speed 4x4 with 150,000 miles with an andrenaline and straight pipe. thanks in advance, -Evan
PS, I did search through threads for a few hours, but i couldnt find just what I was looking for!

If you're going to take the head off, you might as well take it to a machine shop and have it checked, plus get it decked flat. You'll be money ahead, because the biggest reason newly installed head gaskets fail is because the head is not true. You can go back to a stock gasket at that point. A Cummins dealer is probably a good place to get a stock gasket.
If you go with o-rings, most use a modified 12 valve marine gasket which is .20 over stock. Using a .20 gasket will lower your compression some and on a HO truck it might not be a bad idea.

i would go online for your parts. my local dodge dealer is almost always 2 or 3 times as much as what i can get stuff on the web. i dont know if they are all like that or not, just mine for sure. i know pure diesel power has a new head ready to slap on for $1100, and the gasket for $100. not sure if you would need new head bolts or not, but i think they need to be checked with a stretch guage before bieng put back in. hope that helps.
