need expert advice
ok, i just bought a tst powermax2 for my 2000 dodge, i have heard one guy say it might be bad on the stock clutch, others say not. I have not installed it yet and kinda plan on gettin a pyrometer. is the boost and oil temp guages neccessary? Is the pyrometer even neccessary? Do i really need to worry bout my clutch?<br><br> i would really appreciate any comments u might have. <br> thanks.

How many miles are on your truck? Don't run it very hard and it should last you a while (i.e. till you can afford a SBC).<br><br>Would DEFINATELY get a EGT & Boost guage.... don't wanna burn up your motor and ya don't wanna blow your turbo (just kidding you won't make that much boost)

At 153K I went to my TST clutch.... well over due for a clutch but as always $$ was tight and the stock one was still holding unless throughly punished.<br><br>Depending upon how hard you are on your clutch with that PM2 (and considering I don't know the #'s it makes) your clutch could last a good while......but if you rag it it will go quick. <br><br>Just the truth.

I'll say this, at 35,000 miles I installed a PM 2, (my first mod) the clutch slipped on the test ride, ordered new clutch that day. Some people have had they're stock clutch last a good while, and some don't, just be prepared, and like said above, gauges are a must, fuel pressure, and EGT at least.<br><br>Later, Rob

I had a '99 5spd that I put a PM 2 on at 20k. The stock clutch lasted til 104k. Yes you definately need a pyro. In the summer it was easy to pass 1300* on any decent hill.
