Time for twins... your EXPERT advice needed...

Afternoon, DTR.

After years of careful saving, (cause the Marine Corps doesn't give out money like the Army does...), I've attained what I believe to be enough savings for a set of twins.

Currently, I have a big single, a 64/71/16 ss from HTT, no complaints other than it's a little laggy, and I could use more on the big end. EGT's at WOT with the smarty and MP8 set on kill easily hit my 1500 pyro in a few seconds.

What setup do I need? I'm willing to sacrifice a little down low for top end, so bigger (within reason) is better. I do not think my current turbo will work in a set up, so I'm either going to sell or trade it.

Setup is some F1 2.5's, springs, studs, 64/71/16ss turbo, smarty and MP8... I think the rest is in my sig...

Just looking for experience. My truck is mid to low 12's with the current set up, but the difference between fuel and spray is more than 250 hp... I need more air!

Ask for more info if needed, there is more to be given, but I don't want to write a book on the first post.

Lloyd Mills with Mid Atlantic Diesel has my first bid, but I am not a one hit wonder, if you know someone that builds twin kits, hook a brother up with some info!

As always, TIA!!!!

Go with MPI piping kit and get ED to build you a custom set of turbo's purposely built for a twin setup for your needs.

Yeah, it's a pretty good sleeper now! Thanks, buddy! Don't say ultimate, seven years ago I just wanted a straight pipe and some tint!

ED is Engineered Diesel..... They do turbo's, that's it. Get a good linear set of twins, not the normal hodge podge stuff most folks use. As far as if you want Garrets, get with Soulouez (think that's how you spell it) he can hook you up. MPI is where you get the perfect piping kits with no fuse. Nathan does a great job on those. I don't know if he can be beat on that.

For me, This is what I will be doing. The secondary won't be the norm. It will be a worked over small S300 60 compressor instead of a 62 with a modified S475. Both from ED. No smoke and plenty of go. In the hot weather here I can smoke up a storm with my current setup.

:O CompD? I could have sworn I loaded a ban him sign when I was doing smileys the other day...

I've got to wait until I go back to work to start calling people... too busy at home. I'll probably post up who I call and what they tell me.

Def. MPI Very Quality work!!

Call Nathan
208-884-1250

Chris and Glenn at E.D. Know their stuff as well.

I've got the old school basic HTT 62/71/13ss over an S480 with a race cover (80/96/1.32)

If I had the time / money I'd send both mine to E.D. to have them turned into a little better set for a compounds set up... There's a differ wheel for the S480 that flows more and is better for twins, As there is also better way to setup my 62 as well...

I would look at a BB setup, which I am sure soulezoo pointed you to.

A GT4088R would make a great top turbo and get rid of most of your lag!

If the $$ is there a BB bottom turbo would be the ticket, but with a BB top turbo your truck will be much more driveable and then you could use a journal bottom turbo and still scream!

If you want our local guy's info I can get it to you, he is a whiz with Garrett BB twins!
