Mystery switch.

I have done this mod to my Dad's 96 and now my 98, is it possible to manually lock the converter up while in manual 2nd gear?? I can lock it in second gear while the gear selector is in drive-not 2??

I am not an expert since I still havent done mine(ran the wires just havent hooked up the switch) but I beleive the gear selector "MUST" be in drive?
