is this my turbo

well when my stock wh1c bit the dust i installed a rebuilt hx35 instead, before the 35 there was a very noticable whine under acceleration, sounds like a power drill, now i know my turbo is supposed to whine but it wasnt as loud when i put the 35 in, now its as loud or louder than before, almost sounds like a ps pump or something, the only thing is when i let off throttle i can here variations in the pitch like the wastegates opening, it does at 10 psi of boost, but at 36-40psi its screaming, scares me to take it that high since ive had bad luck with turbos and them screaming back at me

Hey Luke! Mine screams like a banshee at about 35lbs of boost Did it just starty sounding like this or what? You still liking the Delivery Valves? What is the hottest your EGT's get to?

650 post turbo is pretty darn hot for 70 mph cruising. I see 650 pre turbo cruising at 70.

My EGT's are about 1450 by 60mph if i bury the pedal. I can give it almost, but not quite all its got, and keep them around 1200. Mine is pre-turbo. That does sound hot if your probe is after the turbo. Could be right if you were on a small grade with a hard headwind or something though. Maybe your turbo isnt spinning freely? Take the intake off, and feel the shaft for play. If you cant make the impeller hit the housing by moving it around, then its fine. I think in and out play is pretty bad though. I might have to go for some delivery valves when i get my tranny upgraded
