Re:TO MUCH BOOST?

Re:TO MUCH BOOST?
If you have the fuel, you can go up to 36-38 psi before you start to super heat the air (your then out of the efficiency range of the turbo). I have mine set to 38 for most hills & loads. I can hit 40-42 on rare occations. I definately get out of it slowly when at those pressures. Over 32 and the turbo starts to sound different. Generally, the turbo's will stay together till approx. 46-49psi. (I'm assuming an HX35/12)

Re:TO MUCH BOOST?
So if I slide my stock plate forward then the boost will go up with it? I thought that it was waste gated to make 19-20 lbs? Now im ??? Do I have to make a manual boost controller or no? If not Im going to slide it forward tonight.

The plate sliding is something all of us 'properly valved' ;D folks do to get some extra HP. It's the forerunner to the Edge EZ (or comp if you go with a really aggressive plate.) If you want extra HP, you can buy a fueling box. I would definitely get gauges first, though! BTW...Welcome to the site. Once you start BOMBing, it's hard to stop!!! |
