My rig has 330,000 miles on it with the stock sticks still in place. I would really like to get better milage as diesel seems to know no limits as to how high it will go(not as high as in Canada I hear though). I've read about 215's and thinner washers to get the spray pattern into the bowl like it should be. Just would like to know what some of you think. Timing has been bumped to 16* with little clrhange, still around 13mpg in town??
When was the last time the fuel filter was changed?
Sometimes a bad fuel filter hurts your mileage, do u have a fuel pressure gauge? Do u drive the truck easily? any fuel leaks? Overflow valve ok?

13??? You've got to be kidding!!! I get better than 15 with 6K behind my truck, running in the mountains for part of the trip! I get 22 with mixed driving, and high teens with lots of stop & go. Do you use the right pedal a bit too much? I've been having a hard time keeping out of it until I saw diesel prices over $3/gal. Now I drive with eggshells under my right foot.

I do tend to drive with a heavy foot sometimes.
I have changed the fuel filter about 10,000 ago and I do not have a fuel pressure guage on it . I have heard you don't need on untill you start making big power in a 12v. Even with an easy foot the best I have gotten in town is just over 15???
