Is your truck stock? Are you asking for tips on how to launch, or for recommendations on mods to do to get more power?

If it's mods, do all the easier cheap stuff first. I'd say look on ebay for a complete 4" exhaust kit and maybe either modify your stock airbox or get a 'cold air kit' ,afe or aes, etc... If your truck has a lot of miles maybe it's time for new injectors, might as well go a little bigger if your gonna buy new ones, easy to install on your 99 too. I like Bosch RV275's for the $$
Before you go too crazy though, install some guages (boost, egt, fuel pressure, trans temp if auto) You can do the exhaust and intake without having to worry about watching your egt's so I'd just start there. Made for a nice increase in my 99, still no race truck but noticeable power gain, plus about 1+mpg.

There will be no substitute for the Smarty when it comes to low end fueling. If fattening up the up the hp curve down low is what you want, don't waste your money on any other mod - get a Smarty!

BTW, welcome to DTR!
