Miss at start up

I have a miss at start up. It starts right up but has a miss for 15 seconds or so. Does this only cold. It May not be one cyclinder. What's wrong? It's below freezing too.

My truck will do that for a second or two once i start the truck cold and with some bio diesel in the tank. It always evens out fast. I've always assumed it was the bio not combusting well when the cylinder was cold. It never happens longer than 2 seconds. Does it sound like air is getting into your fuel lines and running a little rough? It maybe the reason it's taking 15 seconds to even out. Just a thought.

I agree. I want to get some Mach 1.6s this year too

You answered your own question. It's below freezing is the answer!

When the temps are below 30 degrees or so, I always idle my truck for about 2-3 minutes before driving off.

This gives the combustion chambers time to warm up a bit therefore eliminating the cold start-up missing like you describe.

The warmer a diesel engine gets the better it runs!

I parked it in the barn over night Friday (55 degrees) no miss. Parked it outside Saturday night, Miss. But it never used to miss cold.

It was the grids. Both had bad connections.

That makes sense! I'll have to remember that for future trouble shooting.
