Question Max Boost for stock turbo???

I'm trying to find out how much boost pressure my stock turbo can handle. I completely shut the wastegate and can really tell the difference. I'm not sure though if I'm going to produce too much boost with what I've got or if I might need to place a spring on my turnbuckle that closes the wasegate so if there's too much boost it will let off a little. Anyone know what a safe maximum psi is, and how long can it run on that pressure? Thanks for the help. I know I will be repalcing my turbo in the future but am not in a rush to hurry it along.

Ok, how long can it run lets say about 30 psi? Can it run like all day like that or is that amount only ok for short periods of time?

You can run all day long at 30psi. I would keep it between 32-35 max.

Ok great, I got there with the help of a few turnbuckles. Just wanted to make sure I wont kill my turbo sooner than neccesary.

With the tiny turbo you have, you're already superheating the air at only 30psi. It's safe, but it's not getting any more oxygen into the engine.

I'd drop it to about 28psi.

I run my HX35-12 at a max of 35 or so.
