The only reason I'd do it is for reliability and ease of maintenance. That, and the fact that you will probably end up getting more power out of a P-Pump 24 valve than you would out of a VP44 24 valve.

I know DD made 787 HP with the P-pumped 24v they put together. I have heard rumor that it made 83? but I have not confirmed this. <br><br>The P-pump is capable of pushing about 4 times the amount of fuel that the VP44 can. This combined with the increased cfm flow of the 24v head should make this combo capable of outperforming a 12v. Although there are issues with timing, injectors, etc to really make this combo come alive.<br><br>There are several of these trucks out there now. Piers has done 4 or 5 himself. Is the cost vs. HP worth the $$, I guess that would be up to the owner. <br><br>Doug
