Mad Ecm + Superch. Programmer= ??

I HAVE BEEN READING A LOT ON THE MAD ECM AND DECIDED TO GO AHEAD AND MAKE THE PURCHASE. ESPECIALLY AFTER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY JERKS PULLED MINE OFF AND SEPERATED THE HOUSING LOOKING FOR GOD KNOWS WHAT. (SEE ENGINE AND DRIVETRAIN- BROKE MY DANA 80 YESTERDAY) BUT CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG, THE ECM IS LOCATED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FIREWALL? THE OTHER QUESTIONS ARE 1. CAN YOU STACK WITH A SUPERCHIPS PROGRAMMER? 2. IS IT SAFE TO RUN WITHOUT GUAGES? 3. WHICH APPLICATION IS BETTER FOR THE HO? 4. HOW MUCH TIMING DOES THE PROGRAMMER ADD? I KNOW , I KNOW , I NEED THE GUAGES, BUT I'VE BEEN PROCRASTINATING WITH BUYING THE GUAGES. A LOT OF THE OTHER GUYS AROUND HERE DON'T RUN GUAGES, BUT I'M NOT SURE HOW MUCH HP THEY'VE ADDED. I WAS REAL IMPRESSED WITH A BUDDYS 04' DR PERFORMACE MODULE BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF SMOKE, BUT I KNOW THE DR. ISN'T REAL POPULAR AROUND HERE. I DON'T DRIVE THE TRUCK ALL THAT MUCH BUT WHEN I DO I LIKE TO PLAY WITH THE FORD BOYS AND ESPECIALLY THE YUPPY JERKS IN THE BENZS AND BEAMERS WHO LIKE TO CUT YOU OFF FOR NO REASON. MY ULTIMATE GOAL IS TO ESTABLISH SOMEWHERE AROUND 400-425 HP, WHILE MAINTAINING DRIVEABILITY. I AM REAL INTERESTED IN THE FASS TO TRY TO MAKE THE VP44 LAST AS LONG AS POSSIBLE (ALONG WITH ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS TO DO THIS), AND TRY TO KEEP THE SMOKE DOWN AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. I LIKE TO KEEP THE OLE' GIRL CLEAN AND ALL THAT SMOKE ON THE FENDER IS KINDA ANNOYING. SORRY FOR THE LONG POST. DAMB NEWBIES!!

Stop SHOUTING!!!

For starters, the ECM is bolted to the driverside of the engine block, the PCM (powertrain contol module) is located on the passenger side firewall.

I don't think it is smart to stack the superchips programmer with the MAD ecm. I believe the programmer reflashes the ECM which would overwright the MAD programming. You might as well do that to a stock ecm. The only thing that you should "stack" with the MAD is an external fueling box of some type and if you do at least in the case of the Edge Comp line there is a different MAD ecm that is made to work with it.

The amount of HP that you are wanting to get will definetly require a set of guages, I would say that they should be your first purchase.

As far as smoke, as long as you have enough air to burn the fuel that you dump into the cylinders you will have little to no smoke. This means as you increase your fueling, you will have to increase your boost. The limits of the stock turbo are usually reached by about the 300-350 hp range after that you will need to go to a larger turbo or turbo's
The F.A.S.S. system would be a very good upgrade to make early off before moving into the big HP relm.

How are you making out with you Dana 80 claim?

thanks for the reply, well they finally gave me an answer today that they're going to cover it. they also said that they're only allowing 2500 for the rebuild. they stated they have a guy in calif that will do it for that price. the idiots forgot to include shipping so i'm going to give them a call today finally and tell them how happy i am with their progress on my claim. (NOT!!) so anyway, if i want to reach my hp goal i need a larger turbo, which turbo would you recommend, is there different wheel/impellers i could use on the hx35, or do i need a bigger housing? i might just trade the darn thing in if it's going to be too much trouble. like i said, the 04's really impressed me wth the few upgrades a buddy installed on his. larger muffler, airaid cai, and the dr. 60hp module. ???
