I've hit 1837* already with my 5's. They run cool [1250*] up to about redline, then they go crazy.

now the question is what is going to be a good turbo to run, i want smething that spools fast and runs like hell on the top end if that is even possible. does anyone have a good used turbo or were would be a good place to get a good one. i think that this thing is going to be awesome once i get all the pieces together.

Roland you we re right.

after getting my trans built, i drove to dallas, i dont think it ever quit smoking up there no matter how light my foot was.

i guess having a good TC is actually putting a load on the engine now.

but i still managed 19mpg going up there at 75mph with a lil stop and go.

and 20mpg on the way back at 75-80 all hwy.

i was super happy with the mpg!

i think the biggest thing was keeping the egts under 800* when possible.

Sorry, but the new converter didn't change anything for you on the highway, lockup is lockup.

Take out the smarty and see if it smokes. Mine smokes badly with the smarty but isn't too bad running stock or with my box on 1X1. Running 5X5 and have my smarty to kill, there is abit of smoke. If the motor is cold it will smoke some at idle. The 6's are about as big a stick you can really run if you have the air for them. There are bigger sticks available, but are very smokey. Everyone has a different standard of what is smokey. A quick puff is ok, but a hazey trail that's smokey.

I've noticed that my truck smokes for about 30sec. on a cold start, then clears right up. Not bad at all.

Why you painting the truck? Anyways, you'll hate the new sticks, and you might as well give me the new sticks. I can break them in and tell you they they didn't work. These sticks don't smoke or make power, so you might as well just go back to stock. You should take some pictures and post them for us to drool on. Its always cool to drive a new old truck. Sorry buddy, I just had to add some fuel in the fire.

I noticed that with my mach 6's that I can actually drive steady at 1500-2000rpm range with OD off and without boost much more easily. The engine sounds much much more softer and not sound like the valves are coming of the head....

+ even without any fuel programmer it smokes like posessed when revving quickly, even only up to 1900-2000rpm from idle with neutral.

ok that was hilairious, my truck all four doors were rotted off, the guy that owned it before me put those chrome strips down the side of the truck so it rotted out behind it. then i had a deere run into the side of my truck and damaged both the passenger side doors and bed side. so i just bought four new doors and took my insurance money and added some more to it to have it painted i am having some sort of stuff put on the bottom of the doors that is like a bedliner spray on stuff to keep rocks from chipping them. so hopefully since i have been waiting for a month it will look good i hope thanks for teasing with me i does make me feel a bit better.

What else new are you putting on the truck? You redoing the chrome? New glass, its kinda hard to stop. Its kinda like getting a new truck again. I'm gonna do mine soon, I just have to put a few more clicks on her. The styling of the second gen is so classic. You should get some pictures of before and after. It will make you feel better and its yours.
