Mach 4 question

Has anyone run these on a stock turbo without a box or smarty? What was it like. Would a smarty and these sticks be too much until a turbo $$$$?

Thx,
Eric

FYI - Street only, rarely tow more than 8k, but do see 8000+ elevation a few times in the winer.

I wouldn't go any bigger than 100hp if you tow anything. I've seen a few guys run M4's with stock chargers & gotta watch the gauge just daily driving. At your elevation, I would look into some M1.6's or similar.

All honesty Bob, It does it on the street. I will get some footage as soon as I get this thing figured out. I think my problem was a bad ground, its running much better now. If no codes come in the next day or 2, I am gonna try to get footage before I take it to ADT for upgraded clutch on Monday. The wife always takes my camera, I swear my son is gonna be a movie star.

No high elevation here in Kansas, but I make almost 4 trips to the Colorado high country every winter. Anyone just run these sticks w/o timing or fuel added by electronics?

I wish I could say the same....... I see that when it's 10 degrees outside. ANd you have a hybrid correct?

Towing, unless the R's are over 2k, crabby likes the 1300....

Dang you Bob.....

i ran M4's on a hy-35 with smarty and only saw 1200*IIRC.

my 100hp jammers were hotter and dirtier than the M4's.

But you really need another charger to get all the hp from the 4's.

also im at sea level and live in 90% humidity all the time

No problems DDing the M4s here. They can surely get toasty in thin air, but even stock truck will have high EGTs at 8K elevation.

If you're towing 10K in thin air with a stock charger, the M4s are borderline-- you could use them but you would most likely be always struggling with EGT. I'd go down to a M2 if you need to tow in high elevation.

M4's it is I don't want to have to buy them twice.

Any thoughts on injectors with no electronics or is the Smarty necessary?

Got to boost fool at least. Edge EZ or Haisley boost fooler would be cheapest route.

Who's towing what with the mach 4s and a stock turbo? Thats who I would like some more details from. I wanna get some 4s, but I will have to use the stocker for a while before I can upgrade. Trying to figure if I can make it work.

Thanks
Josh

You're going to need a boost fooler and some means of modifying your wastegate to fully utilize those injectors.
