Mach 1.5s... right?

Hi All,

See sig for my current setup, I also have a Scotty II on the way... I tow 5K to 7K lbs... shouldn't have any trouble with temps if I add the 1.5s, right?

Thanks.

Don't know. My roommates HO with a comp in EZ mode, mach 1.5's, BHAF, and straight pipe can hit 1250* pre turbo.

With the HX35 that came on your truck you will be fine with that setup, Big blue's friends truck is running an HY35 and higher pump pressure which are causing the higher EGT's.

I ran the same basic setup as you: Scotty II, 1.5 EDM's, EZ, 4 in exhaust. The EGT would easily get to 1400. I ended up putting the HTT STAGE III UPGRADE COMPRESSOR HOUSING AND 60mm High Flow WHEEL on my HX35 effectively making it an HX35/40. This reduced the EGT to 1200 max. My experience is the HX35 will not handle the 1.5s w/o some modification.

i have a friend that ran a van aakens box 1.5s and a scotty 2 and pulled alot heavier than you . he didnt have big issues with egts even latter when he did put his comp box on he didnt have problems as long as he didnt try to pull on the higher settings . so no you shouldnt have any issues with that set up and egts . im sure dons done some upgrading to them to keep them cooler since my friend got his a few years ago.

Apparently, Don has developed 1.6's that he says are running noticably cooler than 1.5's and are better suited for towing heavy.....I think he was even claiming another 5-10 RWHP over the 1.5's......seems like that makes the existing 1.5 obsolete???....don't know....maybe he can chime in with some specifics.....
There is no doubt that you will have to have the Comp cranked down or in EZ mode if you tow with 1.5's with a stock HX35......other than that, you should be able to keep egt's in check.

The 1.5's will still be available, but more than likely will be slow movers because the 1.6's run cooler, give a few more HP, and smoke less. Towing guys are haivng good luck with them.
