I've been running 45 psi for some time (until my transmission bit the dust) through stock boots and clamps. My truck has 270,000 miles on it. Sounds like a problem with the pipe in your case.

Bringing new life back to this thread. Lately my trucks been seeming down on power. I got gobs of fuel psi new air filter and new filter filter about 5k ago with the new lift pump. I am either leaning towards my clutch is slipping when I get up on it or there is a boost leak some were because it seems to be that the turbo is laggy and never been laggy before and a slipping clutch would cause that or possibly my lower intercooler boot is coverd with oil and may have a whole in it as its seem to be rubbing on the fender and from doing my reasearch alot of them had this problem.?????? But normal driving i cant hear it leaking over the motor but if its a small whole it would not make that much noise but would it cause it to loose power

I can tell you from experience that if a leak is large enough to cause a power-loss you can HEAR IT !!! It positively rips particularily when you are along side a car on the passenger side and you get on it. You can't miss the sound of all that air rushing out. Mine had a 1" long slit, and I was down about 8 Psi and you couldnt mistake the sound if you were deaf.

If you cant hear it, you dont have a big leak.

And you cant miss the clutch slipping either, your RPMs will shoot right up, but the truck doesnt !!!! lol

So 600 after further inspection all of the clamp on the boots all of them were loose i was able to get about 1/4inch of a little mroe out of each of the clamps tell they were tight again. So would that intell a small enuff leak not to be able to hear it? I am getting a boost elbow somtime this comin weekend and if my van aaken is not working it should throw a over boost code but if its working then ill have no code. I dont think the clutch is slipping hard but its coming oh well its coming out of there next october soon as i sell some calvs. I should have done the boost elbow a long time ago from what I have been reading because I had not followed up the va with more boost after give a touch more fuel
