You can do a search, using "Donaldson" or "Muffler" and you will get a lot of reading material. I use the Donaldson 51" truck muffler, and it works great. That's 4" in and 4" out, so if you don't have 4 inch exhaust, it won't work.

Good luck!

You can have mine, in fact, I would be willing to help with the transfer . I have an XL ERATOR (?) in my truck. It was in there when I bought the truck.

I would take you up on that but then you wouldnt have a muffler How does it sound with a non stock muffler? Cost me 130 to remove the muffler at southeast power no telling what they want to put another one on. The quoted me 600 dollars for 3 guages seems a little steep

Not really. I paid $300 for my three Isspro EV's and another $50 for the 3 gauge pillar pod and it took me a good 8 hours to install them. $600-$350=$250. $250/8hrs = $31/hr... that's a pretty cheap shop rate. Afterall, those guys have to eat too....

^^^ right on 5.9 how bout the harbor tunnel for bouncin some sound sure gets peoples looks fast enough doesn't it? I get down to Pasadena 2 3 times a year and go the long way just to go through that tunnel to hear it sing yeah its and extra toll but worth it. I ahve the magnaflow SS system and am tryin to figure out how to kick the tone deeper, thinkin a 24'" long 5" tip should do a bit for me there.

from what i hear...a bigger tip wont do ANYTHING at all for your sound. take your muffler off if you want to be louder, or find a different style muffler to change the tone.

i go thru the tunnel every sunday to play football in cherry hill, and i have a bad habit of shifting about 85 times on my way thru there, working from 4-6th gear and back down again jsut to hear my truck...i dont care how cold it is, the windows go down to hear the truck!!!11

only if your tip starts at the muffler, but to put a tip on the end of your tailpipe any change in tone, and or sound level will not be noticable by a human ear

sound deadener is your friend... much better than a muffler!

and a bigger tip WILL make a difference in sound... been playing with exhaust and building systems for years now... it does make a difference.

How does it change the sound, i guess I would get the same effect if I put a 5" X 24" tip on on my 4" system, or I could just cut 24" off all together and have the same sound.

By adding 1" diameter to the last 24" on your exhaust WILL NOT change the sound. I had Borla Exhaust on my old truck (Ford Lightning) and it had a good rumble, but the tips were ugly, so I cut them off and welded on larger ones for looks, and nothing changed on the sound aspect, the only way the sound is gonna changes is if you increase the pipe size for a great distance, 24" is not enough to make a noticable difference.
