Looking for a pyro

I just installed an ATS exhaust manifold, where is a good place to get a pyro and gauge setup?

I got my Autometer gauges off of ebay. They work great and look nice too. I had a problem with my egt gauge once, so I sent it back and they sent me another one, no questions asked. They have great customer service.

Good selection on Ebay I see, what psi range should I get for a boost guage while I'm shopping around?

If your going to add more fuel down the road I would get a 60 psi, if not a 30 is fine

For fuel press, are you guys running a fuel line into your cab or going with the electrical sending unit? I know I have alot of questions but This is my first time around with gauges.. I appreciate all the info.

I prefer the 30 or 35 psi boost gauge. I'm not going to be boosting anything over that soon. That way it's more accurate and fun to watch the needle move around more. Mechanical fuel pressure gauges are more accurate and less problems than electrical. Yes, I run diesel into the cab. I used SS braided steel hose. It's a little overkill but at least I have peace of mind. A lot of people just use regular nylon or copper hose to plump the fuel pressure gauge. Although I would never run unleaded into the cab, only reason I did this is because it's diesel. You will need a needle valve. Don't run an isolator. Here is a thread I started not to long ago:

I'd get the 60 psi boost gauge. Stock HX35 will go over 35 pretty easily. If you go to an aftermarket turbo, then you're gonna be guessing what you're actually making once the gauge gets pegged. I'm running an electric FP gauge, and haven't had any issues with it yet in a year and a half. I have it mounted on the filter canister.

I'm definately leaning towards the electrical guage in the cab and maybe a test port near the canister to hook up a mechanical once in a while for accuracy. Went and looked at some autometer pyros yesterday. They sure are proud of those things.

you already have test ports on top of the fuel filter housing. pre and post filter. If you go electric fp gauge you will use one of those ports for the sender.

Since you are basically stock an egt gauge is really not necessary BUT the fp gauge is very important for all 24v engines.

I wouldn't get it... Never heard of the brand and for the $101 I'd rather get a name brand gauge like Autometer. For gauges, especially egt, I wanna make sure I have a quality gauge.

If you think AM is proud of their pyro, wait till you see the prices of electric pressure gauges. Yikes! If they had mech. Cobalts, I would've bought them, but at the time, only electrics were available. It's only money, though.

I wonder if I can find something around the aviation industry that will work. Our Jp-8 isn't too far from diesel with regards to viscosity. I don't want to go broke on indication but I don't buy cheap either. Hey Tate, the ATS went in good except for not being able to get the studs out of my turbo. Instead I drilled out the manifold for the top two studs and ground out lands with a high speed and a dremel. That manifold looks good under there. Did you have any problems with the ridgid heater line? mine hangs up under the manifold and will not get anywhere near the mounting bracket..
