Lockup switch on 95 ram
Lockup switch on 95 ram
For you folks with pre-96 second gens, how would you wire the lockup switch in a way that doesnt butcher the wiring? Tap the wires down near the transmission?
I would find a company that sells electrical connectors , and get some that match up with the stock plugs down on the tranny, make your own short harness to act as a jumper harness , then tap into that , you won't have to mess with the stock wiring that way , if you ever want to take it off , unplug your harness , remove it , and connect it back as the factory did.
It's not really any kind of butcher.
All you're doing is stripping one wire without cutting it and tapping in one wire.
If you trust them, I don't, you could even use a squeeze on tee tap connector. All it would leave is a small cut on the wire.

i did it that way, its a connector that goes into the top of the tranny, it has 3 wires, You wanna use the orange with black stripe wire
there is a black/org wire iirc up near the harness that runs along the top of the fire wall (tapped on pass side) you just tap into it, im probly wrong on the colors but anyways all you do is tap into that wire run it to a switch then just ground the switch. The tc is locked up when the computer grounds that wire and all the switch allows you to do is ground that wire on your command so the tc locks up. I did this on my 95 and it really makes a difference along w/ my few other mods.
