That depends on what year ram you have. The 1994-1999 possibly 2000, you have to remove the wheel studs to get the rotor off. In 2000 or 2001 they went to the ones that just sit on the studs.

Mucknut, that's some hellatious damage to a front axle. I've never seen a front axle do that when there were locking hubs up front, usually the hub is the "week link" and lets go before you break an axle. Are you running locking hubs up front?
Yeah, its a 60, from a '79 ford. The carnage was with stock (almost 25+ year old) shafts, while I was waiting for the chromolys to come in. Now with the chromoly shafts, I've gone through several hubs, and a detroit since then.

Looks like the EMS kit is better than the dynatrac. Includes rotors and lug bolts.

I wonder if there is a 1 piece replacement right side axle to replace the 2 piece. Or if its best just to leave the 2 piece Right axle since the axle seal is on the end and not at the carryer like the left side.

Well it looks like EMS extreme duty has better inner axles and hubs.

the kits should come with a one-piece shaft with a machined portion to work with that seal in the disconnect housing.

as of the last time I talked to ems, the base kit does not include a one piece passenger side but that is an option for not much more cost.

Has anyone put the EMS kit in. I have an '06 and just put the kit in last week. I have road tested and the hubs seem a little warm. I can leave my hand on the hub but it is warm. It is winter here in North Dakota and has been around 0 degrees when I did the road tests. I took the hubs apart again and retorqued the bearings to the specs listed in the EMS instructions and it seemed to make no difference. Am I going to have a heat problem/bearing failure when it warms up?

I am also interested in doing this conversion. I was noticing that they do not have ABS compatible kits? Does anyone have any info on this?

Someone needs to just sell the spindles. because the rest is all chevy or ford or dodge or whatever floats your boat dana 60 outers on a custom spindle to bolt in where the unit bearing does.

1 of My Hubs ran a little Hot ( 2002 ),I backed off the torque,
Helped a little, Still 1 runs warmer than other..
I use a Laser Temp gage, what seems warmer ( left vs right ) was only a few degrees..

I went to the old way of torquing the hub nuts, tighten nuts to seat bearing
spin the wheels, back off to just the slightest free play, tighten 2nd nut.
Only problem, tightening 2nd Nut takes out the free play, took me a few trys until I was satisified,,, Still 1 side runs a little warmer...

And, if you brake before checking for 'warm' , ??? brake or bearing causing temps...

I do like the Hubs, I think it now steers better'.
Before the Hub conversation,( With the 285 tires ),it felt like it required some additional effort to start the wheel to turn , like the truck wanted to go straight. After the EMS Hubs installed , Steering seems more linear, no notch ...
Also, there seems to be some MPG gain ( I had a CAD, so gains not as much as non-CAD) ), Really hard to tell as most of my diving is loaded ( it defenitly didn't get worse ) ( Did get 23 + MPG on an empty trip to Ind.(1800 miles ))

EMS was great to deal with, !!! You talk to Real people, who know there product.

They make an ABS compatable kit for the '00+ axle. But apparently the 94-99 axle is different? I know nothing about dodge, so anyone with some help would be great.

Hopefully they have a kit in the works for 94-99 ABS trucks?

I talked with Tom at www.emsoffroad.com. The kits are ABS compatible. Seee the above picture (small block with electrical connection coming out the top). The kits are currently back ordered. They have had a tremendous amount of interest in this kit since it is nearly identical to the Dynatrac kit except somewhat more affordable. On the DRW kit, they are expecting about a 2 month wait. They will be running a special when it is available. Mention DTR for the promotion. I'm on the list! Stuart
