Which lift coils to use?

I am looking at getting the skyjacker coils and putting new shocks. I have also seen a set of coils for the cummins from customsuspension.com. Which coils have you guys had good luck with. I know they will all sag at some point, but I want some that will hold up the best for the longest time period. Which coil/shock setup should I go with?

No experience with the customsuspension stuff but I have been happy with my S/J D25's. Bought 2 new front shocks (4WD Parts Warehouse brand) with a 2" longer stroke than stockers. Going to go all Bilstein pretty soon though, saving up the scratch to do so.

gotcha. I think that is what I am going to go with. Those KORE coils are through the roof.

i've got almost 4 years and 35k miles on my Skyjacker stuff, works well (shocks are about shot). you do get what you pay for, the KORE springs ride A LOT better than the SJ.

Putting on my asbestos underwear.....

Regardless of what anybody here tells you, the SJ coils are junk. I can speak from experience, I ran them for 4 years. After 2 years, they started to sag. They ride like crap. If anybody wants a pair of SJ 4.5" coils, you can have mine for the cost of shipping. Better yet, you can't have them, they're only good for doorstops now.

CORed just got a set of levelling springs from coil spring specialties for around $185 plus shipping, and I would stake a vital body part that they will ride better and last longer than the SJ D25's.

Best combination out there for levelling the front end and improving the ride quality is the CSS coils and Bilstein 5100's. This is basically the same kit that KORE sells for levelling.....

If the price is close, go with the customs.

Skyjacker is mass produced, made to fit a variety of situations.

The customs will be more "custom" obviously, and you'll be happier with them.

Hindsight always being 20/20, I wish I would have known what I know now when I got my Skyjacker.

I'm installing my CSS custom coils this weekend. I asked for 2" taller and 5% softer rate which boils down to 383lb/inch. I will be controlling them with Bilstein 5100's. I'll be able to report on how they ride next week sometime after I have some miles on them.

I had some D25s in the garage about a year ago. Never installed them. I sold them last fall. Good company as far as I could tell. Never had a complaint regarding customer service.

Jerry,

CSS quoted me ~ $292 for a 7" coil.....5" might be a little cheaper. You could get the CSS coils and sell your SJ coils on pavementsucks and recoup most of your money. Some 1/2 ton weenie will buy 'em.....

what is CSS. Anyone have a link? When you guys throw these coils up front, do you add an add-a-leaf or just leave it alone?

I sold my 2 inch spacer and my original coils there, sold pretty quick,
lot of "half ton weenies" looking for cheap upward mobility.

Can't afford to do anything suspension wise for a while.

Just have to wait till something breaks to replace it with better.

I got the CSS springs sittting here in front of me. About to put them in.They weigh a ton. They told me I have to grind the bottom of the spring where it goes into the seat because the 1 inch wire is too big for the seat. This will make me very unhappy if I got the truck tore apart and have to break out the mini grinder. Any one have experance installin them????
