larger aftermarket turbo housings
Can someone explain the advantages of a larger aftermarket turbo housing? I've been looking at some of the threads here and elsewhere, but maybe it's going over my head.

I've got a '02 ETH with an Edge Comp (pump wire not pinned), RV275 injectors, a four inch exhaust, and a BHAF. I'm not sure what cm size the stock turbo housing is. So is it possible to gain anything with a larger housing, or are there larger housings available?

Somebody maybe give a short primer on turbos? Maybe the advantages of a larger housing, the differences between stock and something like Pier's HX35, and an HX40? Where would a person get a good larger housing?

Thanks, Ascraeus
Re:larger aftermarket turbo housings
At your point of modification you will not benefit from a larger turbine housing.
Although when you go above your current level, like larger injectors and Edge Comp, I would suggest a 14 housing for your HX35.
If you want to run stage 3 injectors at their peak effeciency I would suggest a B1 turbo or Piers 40, stage 4 injectors I would suggest HX55, hx40/18 or small twins.
The more fuel you run through your engine, the more exhaust volume is created/increased and to relieve that you will need larger exhaust/turbine housings to help with this.
12cm2 @ 350hp
14cm2 @ 400hp
16cm2 @ 450hp
18cm2 @ 500hp
These are generalized numbers listed above, and my observations.
I would suggest with 14cm2 housings and larger to move up to an HX40 to help move more compressed air (larger impeller diameter)
