Ksb1b

Sorry guys, time for a little complaining.

Finally got the chance to install the KSB1B. Measured everything out, had the flange welded into the new down pipe and it didn't fit. There was a 1.25" gap at the top of the pipe with the bottom of the flange against the turbo.

I paid $200.00 for a down pipe that doesn't fit. Kurt Yardley and his buddies at Stan's Headers didn't care and wouldn"t make it right. Had to spend another $120.00 in mods to get it to fit correctly.

I would like to thank Rod at Wildcat Diesel for all his help.

After a week of no truck its finally back on the road again.

Who did you buy your turbo from? I got my downpipe from Piers and it bolted right up.

BPonci,
Had a heat issue over the weekend pulling 7k. Checked and tightened all of the hose connections and it seemed to run cooler roday, won't really know til I hook the trailer up again. However today I was impressed, with comp box on 1x1 it would hit 34psi in no time and EGT's didn't go above 1000.

Cowhand,
Bought the turbo and down pipe from Wildcat. Rod did everything short of buying me a new down pipe from Piers but I needed the truck before it could be shipped out.

Rod made it right, no thanks to Kurt and Stan's Headers.

Many thanks for the kind words. That whole downpipe fiasco was a mess and left me with an extremely bad taste in my mouth. Even after showing Stan's the picture of the downpipe that could in no way, shape, or form fit on the truck, they still insisted that it was the correct one. So we're Piers bound for downpipes until we can convince DPP to get us proper downpipes that will be set up to work with their exhaust systems.

Craig, good to hear that turbo seems to be responding as it should now. With you living up in the clouds, its spooling ok and keeping smoke down at a reasonable level?

Rod,

You were right, I did have a couple of loose clamps and one hose that didn't seem to be on right. I repositioned it and tightened up all the clamps. Smoke is under control once the truck hits about 1700-1800rpm. I think I will still do the intercooler check this weekend.
