Question Ksb-1-2

Is this a pretty good turbo: KSB-1-2 from Olee Poole? It is supposed to spool up quick.

Thanks,
Gene

Yes, it is a very good turbo.....would fit the bill nicely for your mods.

You might also consider the B1-2 vs the KwikSpool which might be a little toasty with Mach4s. B1-2, Mach4s & Comp was a pretty sweet setup for me with 514hp and very good spool and drivability. I miss it lol!

It's a great turbo. Spools almost as fast as your HY-35...faster than any other after market turbo on the market!
But - With your set up I would pass on the KSB-1-2. It will start to get toasty EGT's above 350 hp. (your past that now) and will over boost (most B-1's don't have a wastegate).

The KSB-1 will take you to about 450 HP (500hp for drag racing) and spools almost as fast. I have run both. PM me your e-mail if interested in an EGT comparison of the two from my truck?
The B1-2 is a big jump in spoolup lag for an auto...but will work well (with some practice) for daily driving and will get you to 500 hp. as Duke1n said.

Ollie Poole gets all his B-1's from the original MFG, I'm not sure others do. He's great to deal with.

I just went from a KSB-1 to an HX-55 and gained new appreciation for all the B-1's based on a smaller increase with the HX-55 than I would have thought. IMO they are as close as an auto can get to good spoolup and enough air for high HP.

How good does your Snow's injection work? I really don't want to have to O-ring the head, but I guess head bolt change would be needed. I'm looking for more power for the 1/4 mile, do not pull any at all. Do you think the B1-2 would be too slow to spool up? Theres a Power-S running 14.2 sec, I would like to take care of . But my stock turbo gets hot and power quits towards the end of the run. Take off is another story, can't keep the 2x from spinning.

Thanks to all for the good info

Gene,
B1-2 will work well for racing...EGT's will get hot (over 1250*) but not for more than 6-7 sec in the 1/4 mile. You should have a wastegate, either external or built in...Ollie can get them. Without my external WG...I could get 55 psi boost from my KSB-1 at Sea Level....way to much! All B-1's should not rev higher than 45 psi max, for best cooling.

Any single turbo will get hot with Mach 4's and and a drag comp!

The slower spooling, I was refering to, has to do with street driving. You will see a difference but Mach 4's make street manors much easier.
