Just hooked up Comp wire and not really impressed

I had an Edge Comp for years and finally installed my Airdog and then hooked up the VP wire. I can tell a difference between level 1 and level 5 but not as impressive as I had thought it would be. How much boost should I get on level 4 and level 5? I do have the elbow installed.

If you don't have injectors, I am guessing that your oversize tires are taking their toll on your box. You should be able to hit upper 30's for boost. Have your boost and EGT's gone up compared to before the wire tap? If not it may not be done correctly, you should also see a lot more smoke on 5X5 compared to before the wire tap. I thought the Edge comp was a HUGE improvement over the EZ when I first upgraded....

Your comp must be bad,(or not a good tap) edge ez is 60hp comp on 5 should be almost double! there is a huge difference when I go from 2 to 5,
I seem to remember there was some kind of programming glitch, just dont remember the details I think Mopar1973man has something on his site about it.

Well I can tell a difference. And I tested power on the TST stealth plate. It does smoke more on 5x5 setting than on 5x1 or 1x1 etc. I guess I just expected more. I am getting about 26 psi and about 21 before. I think I have some bad boostleaks. I am going to test for those.

Just send it back and have it check out, They checked mine and updated it for free, just had to pay for shipping. Great people to deal with. Mine was doing the same thing. I checked the wire tap and it was fine, so i sent it in and it was a big difference....

HO's don't respond to the boxes as well as the SO's. You'll probably only see a 90hp gain on kill instead of the 120 the SO will see. HO's like injectors, though.

ok, that is probably it, that and boost leaks. I lost a little boost pressure awhile back and never looked into it. I was thinking it might be the fact it is a HO. I have some jammer 3 nozzles here and a 57mm turbo that I need to put on. I think I migh tbe going with a different brand of injectors though.

Jammers are cheap injectors, and they show it. They get the job done, but there are much higher quality. I'd look into F1 or DDP sticks, both make clean injectors.

How much cleaner? look at my sig line. Mine smoke horriblely under the slightest load, and EGTs climb fast. I suspect I need a better turbo, but still she is smokey!

Might want to check for leaks if thats the case. My jammer 2's smoked decent, but nothing outlandish unless I lugged it. That was with HRVP and a Smarty, both on stock and 62mm turbo.

I went from the jammers to the DDP 150's, and the smoke output seemed to be roughly the same, but it ran smoother, and power was up. But after I installed the F1's in my 12v, those will be the next set of injectors I buy for any of my engines.

About 2 months ago I did check for leaks, had a couple small ones at a couple of the clamps, around the 20psi mark. I seem to max out around 28psi (heavy spring on wastegate) it smokes something fierce when at low to no boost and keeps on until the load comes off the engine, I could live with it but, even when the boost is up its pretty heavy too. I have the boost control set to its lowest setting, seems to smoke less on 1x3, anything higher is just crazy, lvl 6 will fog out 4 lanes, once I get on it. even on stock it smokes heavy, or maybe its normal? I blame the injectors at any rate, I think the last time I e-mailed Mark at coaltrain a set of 100's were pretty inexpensive, and I did do a bit of web search and found no bad reviews..

Jason you have to have boost leaks, you should be in the mid to upper 30s with your boost. Back when i had a comp only i could hit 36-38 with just the comp.
