Jumping Fuel Pressure

I just recently did the 1/2" Draw Straw II Install and have it set per directions that came with it. I have a almost 2 yr old Holley Blue as my Pusher. When I first did the DSII install(1 week ago) my pressure was 18-20psi idle and 14 psi cruising on the highway. Tonight(maybe 50miles on the install) on my way home for a side job, I had the crusie set at 62mph and Watch the fuel pressure gauge jump from 14psi to 8psi back and forth and randomly. I checked the Electric FP Gauge with the Mechincal FP Gauge I have and its acturate.

I have a Full Tank, so it isnt sloshing around to loose prime. I was going to hook back up my stock line and see if the pressure jumps still. Do I just have Too Big of a Line for my Holley? Is she wearing out? Has anyone else ran into these problems?

I'd hate to take out a VP44 due to a $30 DrawStraw that was too big for my set up.

Thoughts? Opinions?

Thanks!
Rick

ZERO Air Leaks or Fuel Leaks. I just checked the entire system...

I'm now leaning towards a bad pump.

My fuel pressure does that too. Mine bounces between 12 and 9.5 at idle and 8 and 9 during normal driving. My LP is in the stock location and i had it changed when i had my new VP installed @ 58000 (68000 now) miles and pressure has bounced since new. I havent figured mine out yet either.

I found the brass screen in the Holley Fuel Pump clogged.
