J-Hook???

If I run 100hp. injectors with my Quad XZT+ would a j-hook help make more boost and keep egt's down? Or would it make egt's go up? Should I not worry about the j-hook. I thought it might help alittle til I got a bigger turbo.

Kiss your tranny goodbye ... Also the J-hook will maybe help a little with EGTs but the HY35 will overspool enormously with that much fuel. I'd save up for the turbo and install the injectors and the turbo at the same time.

Burnt pistons ruin your day.....

It will help, but that is a lot of injector for that little HY turbo as Alpine said. I've got DD1 and a VA box on mine, and I can get it toasty even with the J-hook, and you are talking about a step or two up on the injector size.

Dont waste you time with a J-hook. You will see only a 2-3 psi increase. Instead go to the local hardware store and buy a reugal turnbuckle like you use on a chain link fence to prevent sagging. Make each end into a bent hook. Place one hook end around the wastegate lever and the other end on the triangular cast iron bracket on the turbo. Crank her down tight and the wastegate will be almost fully shut at all times. This equals bigger boost. I have a 2002 auto with Edge Comp box. I went from 18 psi to 32-35 using this method. What a cheap way to get more boost!!!

Anything above what the J-hook provides (29lbs in my case) is outside of the efficiency range of the HY turbo, thus creating more heat and wear on the turbo. Had the turnbuckle, replaced it with the j-hook, but I'm conservative when it comes to my daily driver.

Not true in all cases. I run a J-hook and I can reach 32 psi with no problem.

I don't want to max out my MAP, I just want to keep the actuator seated. I've heard it can blow off prematurely.
