Intercooler boots

Popped a boot on the dyno last week, looking for the best place/price to buy silicone replacements.

The transition hoses will be hard to find, they are specific to Dodge.Go to Mr Bobs distributing. You can get all the cac hoses for just a bit more than 1 factory transition hose.

IF your running a big charger save yourself the headaches and buy the ones from PDR.With silicone boots they are way to easy to blow and I have seen the Stylin Motors and B-D Power boots come apart under a heavy dyno rip.

I had a BD come apart on me. Split right down the middle. It was still under 1 year warranty and they said they'd replace it, but I had to buy the replacement until they received the blown one in return. I bought the new one, sent them the old one. BD sent me some mamby pamby letter saying something about the clamp not being put on correctly (horse manure) and that they would not warranty it. I've tried to call them to refute it and have not received a call back. Makes me want to think twice about all the BD stuff I have on my truck now........

PS. If I still had the boot, I'd post a pic, but I had to send it back for warranty. It split lengthwise clamp to clamp. No way the clamp had anything to do with it.

PSS. I've also got another good friend that blew a BD as well.

Wow,
Then if all the boots are made out of silicone, what are we supposed to use?
How many ply are the BDs?
Which one was it?

4 I believe.

Piers has the toughest I believe.....hard to put on, but very durable.

I have the BD kit and 1 Piers bottom after a BD lower had to be replaced after an accident.

Comparing the Piers to BD is like comparing the BD to stock. The Piers seems twice as thick as the BD.

Just measured the stylinmotors boots, and the elbows measured 1/4" thick. They are 5 ply.
I havent been able to install them yet, so they are sitting here still in the box.
I am having bigger problems with the truck right now.

Hammer, get your facts straight before posting.
My facts were straight,as the Stylin Motors one that blew were the POS's on my truck. The B-D Power boot that I seen go bang was during one of our dyno events.I am sorry that I didn't save needless parts or take photos of them to ease your mind and back up my comments. At the time they blew on my truck I had not even installed the new fuel delivery system and had added them to enhance the looks under the hood for show season.I should have figured that if they looked that nice then they would not handle the job.

BTW..
I never said the PDR boots were not silicone, however, have you ever attempted to install them or remove them at a later date?.They are simply put the toughest intercooler boots going and the best bang for the buck.I do also believe that the Rip's deal are the same boots.

You do what you want and buy what you feel,I will remain happy with the one that I know handle all I can give them each day when they are needed to be stress tested.....

You say "with silicone boots". ALL OF THEM ARE SILICONE. So, since PDRs are silicone they wont blow apart?

BTW, you must be MR. SENSITIVE in your world.
