Interco tires
Interco tires
Anyone running these tires in the 35/16's....... http://www.intercotire.com/site35.php ?? If so, how do they handle on the pavement? I had the interco 235's on my truck but where a little to skinny and did not like the feel. I am currently running Pro Comp All Terrains and love the ride. But want a more agressive tire for the winter....
Thanks.....

I dont think youd get very much life out of ANY of the Interco tires. They just arent meant for heavy trucks like these.....they "might" be ok if you never seen the pavement, but who falls in that category??

Contrary to popular belief......I'm getting close to 60K on my SSR's and I'm not down to the wear bars yet. I drive So. California freeways daily...including a 3 month stretch of 200 mile round trips and 6 months 150 mile round trips. I put this set on in October of 04.
I've NEVER rotated them. Cross over steering and keeping an eye on the pressure makes a big difference.

I'll back him up, I got a lot of miles on my SSR's when I had a set on my K5 blazer. They wear easy comapred to other Intercos because they are radials and have a lot of meat to wear.
One thing though, driving a ton of freeway is what has made his last under a Dodge. Interco says easy freeway miles are the best for the tires. Most interstates have very smooth roads that don't have a lot of rocks at the surface. That and you aren't turning. Get out into the back country on some old country roads and that rocky asphalt will eat them up.
I'm now currently running Boggers on my K5.
Those tires are "OK" but don't last long at all!! They work decent off road with the soft rubber.....which might help on the ice......but for driving on the road everyday I probably wouldn't buy them.
But like you said, you only plan on running them in the winter, so if you could get them cheap enough they'd probably work.

SSR's are only real on road with decent off road traction tire interco makes. They have only been makeing radials for a few years now and they are their best effort so far. They are a big off road tire company and thats what they specialize in and they are good at it, they are to new at the radial tire market to warrent spending that kind of money for the tire you are looking at, if any go with the SSR's. I have good luck with BFG All terrains on all my heavy trucks, but air pressure and rotation will surely extend any tires life.
