I bought my truck with an afe intake on it. Although its nice I think the scotty II is far superior with the whole I think. Being the poor person that I am want to make some type of hole in my cowl to draw in cold air. I was thinking of making a new box to better seal the cowl area also and using the afe BHAF only. Has anyone done this or made a custom setup?

I've made a few custom setups by holesawing a hole in the Scotty location, another in the passenger rear of the stock air box then connecting them together with 3" RV dump or dryer vent hose. Leave the stock airbox hole alone, no need for clamping or airtight connections, it doesn't really matter.

I have a Scotty also and this mod with a K&N or other type of free flowing filter have almost the same egt reduction results. It will be loud in the cab.

Look in my gallery for crummy pictures, this one is hard to get a good picture of, not much space.

 

I can deal with noise. Its already pretty bad as it. Thanks for the ideas. I am going to put something together this week.
