Question Intake/exhaust?

With my current setup I'm not seeing any problem with EGT's. My normal cruising EGT's, at 65 mph, is around 600*. Pulling a hill, at 30lbs of boost, I see around 1000* ... both situations are running empty.

If I was to add a 4" exhaust and an intake (BHAF, or something similar) would I see much of a difference in power?

You probanly wouldn't see much HP increase. It would help the trubo to spools faster, but it will mostly just help lower EGT's. Right now it sounds like you don't have any problems with EGT's but if you add more power in the future the exhaust and intake would deffinently help...*****

You will get some additional power, but it might not be enough to be felt. The motor will breath better, which will keep your temps in check especially if you add more power, but even now if you tow.

You should notice a better mpg average too with those upgrades too.

I should have mentioned that my rig is around 12k (boat and trailer). Would I see any problems with my current setup, since I don't have those upgrades? I haven't tried to tow with this setup yet!

No you should be fine. If you dont have gauges installed to watch the egt's just dont hammer it up and down steep or long grade hills and you'll be ok. But when you do the upgrades how much better it will all be.

I would also suggest adding a good gauge package to keep an eye on everything, but especially if you plan on upgrading the power any.

I have gauges ... but I certainly don't have the cash for one of those Megamouth thingies!
