Installed the comp

Aight, I installed the comp tonight. It may just be me but I'm not sure if I can really tell a difference between the different levels? My boost is 30, my egt's are 1000 and my fuel pressure is 8 W.O.T. Is this right, or did we tap the wrong wire? It feels like it has a get-up-and go. It is night so I can't see what my smoke is looking like...Any 6spds have similar results?

If you installed the Comp and Tapped the wire you have a problem if you can't tell. That's a fact. I would suggest that you start with the easy stuff and check your ground, suggest grounding to the battery. After that put some lithium or contact grease in your harness to make sure it has good connection. This usually solves most problems.

That wire can be tricky. I drove around for over a month thinking mine was tapped and I wasn't too impressed. I later checked the tap and The male spade connector on the wire was bent and not actually shoved down in the scotch lock. My egt's ran about the same as yours without the wire tapped but I have a HY-35 and you have an HX. After the wire was tapped I can hit 1300 too easy and has been higher and my boost went up about 8 pounds. Hope this helps.

no I'm just moving from an EZ to a comp so I'm trying to tell the difference. It is noticeable that a box is on there, but I want to know with these gauge readings if the right wire is tapped. If not wouldn't it default to the EZ mode as if you hadn't tapped the wire. In that case it seems my gauge numbers are the exact same as when I had the EZ...

You are right about the comp running in the EZ mode if the wire is not tapped. IF your EGT's and boost numbers have not changed from when you had the EZ then something is wrong. You should be able to tell a big difference in power from EZ to comp.

With the stock injectors, those readings should be IMO about right. I still say if you can't feel it, it aint right. On 5X5 I can't shift fast enough to keep up with the RPM's when you get in it.

You'll definately feel the difference. Make sure you've got the right wire tapped first and that you've got a good ground. I promise that you'll enjoy the difference.

guess I will check out that connection in the morning. I must say that the connector edge gives you is poor quality. I guess I am going to have to order that pump cover. Other than that everything else is hooked up correctly. I just don't see the difference I am looking for. Tyler (or whomever) if I unplug my map tomorrow and romp on it, if I don't see smoke does that mean I have the wrong wire tapped/bad connection?
