Injectors with Smarty

I got my Smarty and love it! Now I want to add injectors. What is going to be the best option for me? I have a stock auto and don't want to kill it. My boost goes to about 30psi and I have a 4' exaust. I no longer use the Banks so there is no wire tap. And last, what should I expect to pay?

Also, I used the search, but there is little info with the smarty!

Thanks Bob

Do you tow much? Do you have any plans to upgrade the trans?

If you had to......RV275's would be the highest i would even think about until you at least get a valve body done......and at that point.....start saving for a better build......

Dont get me started on this one........haha.....my old boss (TAKE CAREFUL NOTE OF THAT....my OLD boss...i no longer work for him!) had me come over and help swap out a VP-44. 99 Dodge Stock auto........he does have a #9 program stuck in his truck due to a ECM issue on his truck....(long story and has been fixed very quickly by Marco and Bob and RJ is happy again!).....and he wanted to install some old injectors he had laying around......welp...these "Injectors" were Bully Dog Stage V's.....180HP........... Needless to say that it smoked and ran like a bat.......but........i think yall know where this is going...........i tried to talk him out of it.......but that is why i dont work for him anymore.....

Stock trany and I tow a snowmobile trailer(4000lb), could I get away with 275s' and go easy when towing?

What should I do to the trany with out going crazy?

Dan, that tranny sounded horrible with just #9 stuck in it. With those injectors, when he stomps the pedal he must be lost in a loud, smoky cloud.....because I know his tranny isn't moving him out in front of it.

RV275s and a shift kit will work fine. I ran mine like that for a long time without issue.

There are many shift kits to pick from, I went with SMR transmissions. Dave Goerend builds a nice VB for just a bit more $$.

I don't know a lot about auto's because I hate driving them, but I will mention a DTT VB as well, it has kept Tyler's tranny alive through a lot of use and I'm sure at least a little bit of abuse.

True enough, DTT builds some nice stuff as well.

BobQ - There is/was a DTT Valve Body for sale in the Classified Section! Don't remember the details.

I must have missed the valve body.

Any way, I am curious, I though the smarty was a 66hp gain, and If I got 275 injectors, that would give me a total gain of a little under 100hp, I think? So any way I thought the stock trany would handle that? Or am I missing something?

Thanks for the help!

Bob, It may or may not, no simple answer. The main reason to get a shift kit or valvebody is to increase the holding capasity (read: line pressure) of the clutches inside the trans and for the apply of the TC lock up clutch.

I ran for a long time with the 275 and Mad ECM combo. When I finally had the money to rebuild the trans, everything in the trans looked good. Overdrive clutches where slighty brown.
