injectors or a box
I am wondering which would give me more bang for the buck so to speak. I currently have a Van Aakan box. It is an older one that plugs only inline to the vp-44. I dont know the specific model as I got it used. I am preparing to tow a boat weighing approx. 12k on the trailer to key west. I do not have the funds to do the clutch before I leave and I understand injectors and a box will probably be too much for the stock clutch especially with this load. So I dont want to risk sitting on the side of the road hundreds of miles from home with a dead clutch. So will I get more power for my truck ('02 h.o. 6spd) with the box I have only or with a set of injectors only. I am considering the cummins 275 injectors. I currently have 4 in. exhaust, AFE stage II, and gauges in addition to the VA box.
Injectors are easier on the clutch than just about any box. 275s are totally safe.
I would encourage you to consider large injectors and just a boost fooler or the box you already have.
You can run some rather large injectors if you have pedal discipline. Power levels that would torch a clutch or auto trans can be run IF you have the discipline to not kill your tranny or clutch.
It's all in the skinny pedal.
If you are considering injectors, I recommend you either go very small (275s) or very large (100hp+). With middle-range injectors you will probably just end up wanting more. Then again, many guys are VERY happy
