Increased line pressure causing leak?
Installed a Transgo VB kit in my 47RE and did the drilling, etc., to up the line pressure. The tranny never leaked before but now is leaking from the rear seal where it mates with the transfer case. Also changed fluid from ATF+3 to ATF+4 and adjusted bands. My question is does increasing line pressure in the VB increase pressure inside the tranny case as well? Could this be the cause of the leaking? Would the change in fluid cause seals to leak? Thanks in advance.
hi
if you did the vb kit correctly it should not cause a leak un less your seals were marginal anyway ?
i also had a leek between trany and transfur case befor vb kit install .
replaced the trany rear seal and all is good now .
not a hard job to do .

Thanks Oldblues. Maybe just time for the seal to go. Doesn't the transfer case have to be removed to get to the tranny rear seal? That looks like lots of work just in itself. Maybe some of you can weigh in on how to simplify the job.
