Lightbulb increase in fuel consumption?

Has anyone else noticed a drastic consumption in fuel since the use of ulsd has started. It seems mine has almost doubled since last fall. I first thought it was because of the winter air and fuel etc. but it is warm enough now it shouldn't be effecting it still. I recently changed fuel filter and found nothing in the old one to show a cause for the extra fuel usage.
Anyone have any other thoughts?

I dread the ulsd.... we still have a lot of low sulfur but anyone ive talked to says the ulsd goes much quicker... this really may defeat the purpose of having a diesel when fuel mileage is as low as a gasser and prices are higher. if you can find bio try that ive heard it does better by a mile or two to the gallon

My fuel consumption hasn't really changed much since ULSD was introduced. Recently I ran a few tanks of Biodiesel, B10 to be exact, and it brought down my mileage a bit.

b10 really isn't much of an addative ...

I run b100 ... and notice 2 - 3 mpg vs. ulsd.... i did notice that my right foot has more effect than what type of fuel i run :P

At first I thought mileage had dropped off but in the winter but it varies a bit anyway so I'm discounting it so far. I actually have gotten the best mileage in the winter ever with the ULSD 3 times in row same station, same trip, same pump.

We still have winter fuel at the pump so it woun't be untill the end of the month before the summer fuel starts.

Check yuor tire pressure, they tend to drop over the winter.

ULSD can only account for a 2-3% drop in mileage. Nothing drastic. Bio gets even less mileage than ULSD. Colder air can account for more aerodynamic resistance and less mileage as well. Tires generally do not account for a significant drop in mileage. I really think most drastic mileage drops are due to a mechanical problem of some sort. Anything from a clogged fuel filter to a fuel pump going out. It seems people on here like to think positively and not suspect mechanical issues right away, but I think it is wishful thinking.

Diesel prices are cheaper than regular gas for the first time in a long time here in Oregon and southern Washington. I sure hope this trend holds just like it used to back in the day.

Well what is rediculous is that diesel has costed more than gas...diesel is a frikkin by product of gasoline in some instances and is 30% more efficient, whats even more BS is that here in CO they got rid of gas emissions and refuse to get rid of diesel emmisions, that makes absolutly no sense at all. I wish law makers would get an education as to how engines operate and realize that diesel is cleaner and more efficient than gas. Hence why I always laugh at the v-10's I see drivin around gettin their sweet 6-8mpg city when not even towing.
