Thumbs down I need another option

I want a muffler delete pipe that I can exchange with my Banks muffler with clamps. Some of y'all have asked, "Why not just weld some in there?". I just want to have a quick fix in case for what ever reason I need to put the expensive muffler back on. I went to the DTR Store and found the MBRP muffler delete pipe. After asking WANNADIESEL, he advised me to contact MBRP. I did and the delete pipe for my truck would be 6" too short. I have another e-mail going to them to see if they have any 36" long, as apposed to their 30" one for my truck. I'll update when I get a reply.

If the muffler is just a straight through muffler, just go to a truck shop and pick up some flex pipe. Most will cut custom lengths. It is kinda a rigged way to do it but it works.

I'm thinking custom muffler shop as well. You could get them to bell one end so it will slide on and then have the length butt on the other. Then you could use one of the fat clamps on that end to seal it off. Not sure if it would seal it entirely. You might need a short piece (maybe 6") of one size up that can just slide up the regular exhaust pipe during install, then when ready to clamp it slides over the butt joint. Use 2 regular exhaust clamps on both ends of that short piece to seal it off that butt joint. Just a thought, not sure if it would work or not. Might not be that expensive either, especially if you just have them make it for you and you do the install.

Another vote for a local muffler shop. My buddy did the same thing for when he went on road trips he could slap the muffler back on......seemed to work pretty decent.
