Stock tranny cooler. Temps never go over 180-190* sitting in traffic on a hot day.

I'm working on the rebuild as we speak but I've had a couple of unexpected expenses pop up that have put a hurting on the trans fund so it's getting delayed yet again. I hate my stock converter. All it does is sit at 2000rpm and then finally drops like 500rpm once it locks. Not efficient by any means.

I ran a BD TC and VB. I got 100000 miles at 400rwhp. It last 40 miles at 677rwhp. The OD was toast. The RE-47/48 tranny is a tuff tranny even in stock form. Once you get a built tranny, you'll wonder why it took you so long to buy it in the first place. My stock TC only lasted to 7000miles and I smoked it on the first mountain pulling my trailer. If you don't tow, it should last.

Oh I know. I'm dying for a new one. I really am. I don't tow anything worth mentioning so that's probably why mines still alive.

well, I am happy for you and your tranny. That didnt sound quite right, but this is the modern world, to each his own.

the only reason I went with the nv5600 was I didnt want to have to spend $4K on a trans that would live. I didnt think a reasonably stock auto would put up with that abuse. well, we learn something new everyday.

Really? I had not noticed that. I'll pay more attention now that you mention it. Thanks!

(It's genetic for Texans.)

BigBlue does not condone street racing nor does he say that his tranny is normal and none of the above should be attempted by anyone other than trained professionals.
